Sex Offenders: Who They Are & How We Can Protect Our Children

Anna C. Salter, PhD has done extensive clinical work and research with perpetrators and victims of child sexual abuse. She will share practical and eye-opening information about how parents, caregivers, and other adults can prevent the perpetration of child sexual abuse in their homes and communities. Dr. Salter is the author of the book Predators:  Pedophiles,  Rapists and  Other Sex Offenders: Who They Are, How  They  Operate and  How  We  Can Protect  Ourselves & Our Children. She received her Master’s  Degree  in Child Study from Tufts University and her PhD in Clinical Psychology and Public Practice from Harvard University.

Everybody’s Business: Race, Family & Sexual Abuse

Robin D. Stone is an award-winning journalist with nearly 20 years’ experience in media. With articles, op-editorials and features in The New York Times, Essence, Glamour, The Boston Globe and other publications, Stone, in early 2002, embarked on writing her first book. No Secrets, No Lies: How Black Families Can Heal from Sexual Abuse, published by Broadway Books in April 2004, is the result of two years of research and nearly 50 in-depth interviews. The book has received universal praise, including write-ups in The New York Times, The Los Angeles Times, Chicago Sun Times, Publishers Weekly, Black Issues Book Review and other local and national media.
